Tyus' Thoughts: Ready For the Season
Tyus Battle is back with his third blog entry for GiveNGoBasketball.com. He talks about the upcoming high school season, his recruitment and more.
The season is is on about eight days away and feel like I have done so much to prepare myself mentally and physically. I am no doubt bigger, stronger and faster. I have done a lot to get myself prepared for this season. There is no doubt I am ready! We are going to be a little better than most people are expecting us to be. We have a lot of size for a high school team and I think we are a pretty competitive but, only time will tell how things will really turn out. I am proud of the work we put in to prepare. I am proud of the work I did to prepare. We beat some really good teams in the fall and we got our butts beat by a few. We really competed against some of the so called top teams but, it is the fall league and it is really too early to pass any real judgment. I am a way better shooter from every level and I am tougher and definitely a much improved athlete. There are not that many holes in my skill set. I am ready!
Duke is the latest school to jump into my recruitment. I am still being recruited heaviest by Syracuse, Indiana, Ohio State, UCONN, SMU, Duke, Rutgers, Miami, Michigan, Providence, Seton Hall, Virginia, and Villanova. I am intrigued by all of these awesome schools however if you know me you know my dad is front and center in my recruitment and I am focused on more important things like Geometry, French, World History and no doubt Play Station, lol and the Lakers. Yeah, basketball and family are number 1. Life is good! I love the direction my life is headed but I am in no rush to grow-up and I am not satisfied. We will be successful this year because we have worked really hard to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. I try never to get to far out in front and always stay the course on a plan. My Nana taught me that, she passed this year and I miss her. I really believe in my coach and the team.
Kobe is back and that is really exciting for me. There is no doubt in my mind he will be an all-star again and will win another championship. He is my favorite athlete of all time. My little brother Khalif is becoming a heck of player although they got beat really bad this weekend I know he will come back strong. Come on K keep working!
Thanks for reading my latest player blog for GiveNGoBasketball.com. Stay tuned for another one in the future.
