Jessie's Journal: Pumped for Peach Jam

Jessie Govan is back with his fourth blog entry for GiveNGoBasketball.com. He talks about AAU season, recruitment, and more.
Hey guys what's up! I'm back for another blog entry on givengobasketball.com.
The EYBL regular season came to an end in Minnesota, and my AAU team, the New York Lightning, qualified for Peach Jam! We finished 11-7 in a 3-way tie for 2nd place in our pool, but since we lost to the other 2 teams we finished 4th. Everyone tells me how much of a great environment Peach Jam is, and they say that every game is packed. I can't wait to go down there and hopefully my team can make a long run in it. We have some tough teams in our pool but hopefully we can grab one of those top 2 spots so we can advance.
I also went to the USA 16U team camp. It was a great experience! But I couldn't make the team since I had to take tests back here in New York. I knew most of them from the first tryout back in October, so I already had chemistry with some of them there. Playing with the best players at your age and being recognized as one of them feels great.
Coaches could finally start contacting me on June 15th, and boy it was crazy! Everyone told me to be prepared though, so I was ready. Schools such as Florida, Temple, Kansas, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Stanford have called or texted me and my parents. I also received four offers this past week from Miami(FL), Cincinnati, Arizona, and UConn! Being recruited by these schools and to have some of them offer feels great. It lets me know that I need to keep working and that my hardwork is paying off.
Thanks for reading my blog on givengobasketball.com. Stay tuned for the next one!
